Sometimes bigger really is better. Like when you are merging companies and want to get economies of scale. Or when Taco Bell decides to give you even MORE meat and cheese for the exact same price as before. Well the Hyatt Regency in Chicago falls squarely into that category for Windy City bachelor parties too. This humongous hotel is home to over 2,000 rooms, making it more like a Vegas destination than a Chicago property. With a place this size, your party will get the benefits that come with it: cheaper rates, strong amenities, and a more consistent and reliable experience than some of the boutiques. For that we’re willing to ignore the fact that it has the personality of a shower curtain salesman from Tacoma, who also may be there on a business trip.

Venue Tip:

Sign up for Hyatt’s Gold Passport loyalty program and get free internet access and (more importantly) a late checkout.

The Good:
More rooms usually equals cheaper rates, plus there’s always a good chance a convention is in town … which means easier targets at the hotel bar if you strike out at the club.
The Bad:
The hotel is HUGE so there’s a solid chance some lost, drunk wandering could go down. As always, save your room number in your phone.

Vibe: A nerdy suit trying to act cool, but you appreciate the effort.

Good Place to Party?: Not the coolest kid on the block; more of a place to catch a quick buzz before stepping out.

Nearby Eats: Stetson’s Chop House delivers on the red meat; The BISTRO at 151 for a morning refresher; Morton’s if the crew wants to head father..

Nearby Drinks: BIG Bar for tons of drinks and beers; DaddyO’s Pub is a mellower drinking bar; head across the river to NV Penthouse Lounge.
