Sure, it’s easy to turn your nose up at a restaurant chain but like any know-it-all MBA will tell you, sometimes the economies of scale are exactly what make some things so great (now ask the MBA to leave before they start talking about how fun business school was). So while you’ll be impressing exactly nobody when you tell people you visited Ruth’s Chris for the bachelor party steak dinner you can still be fairly certain you are going to get a great meal and a good time. And while it may not have the hipster vibe of N9NE or the old-school charm of Keefer’s, Ruth’s Chris’s hearty steaks and awesome sides will deliver every time.

Venue Tip:

One key of working with a chain: they are used to booking for big parties. You can go to the Ruth’s Chris web site and contact their Private Dining Manager directly who will hook everything up, from the room to the menu to the ride afterward.

The Good:
Low maintenance yet still damn good, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse is a solid call for the bachelor party looking to take it down a notch before stepping it back up.
The Bad:
You’re more likely to be rubbing elbows with families celebrating Mom’s 50th and shower-ring salesmen on the way to Skokie than the Chicago elite here.
