Okay, so the bride is supposed to wear something old, something new; but if the bachelor wants a marriage of the old and new for his bachelor party, Le Westin Montreal is the spot. One of the city's more modern hotels, it opens onto the cobblestone streets of Old Montreal, which puts it smack dab in the center of downtown’s many restaurants and bars, galleries, boutiques and historic sites. There's also a direct connection to Montreal's underground city. The hotel's most striking architectural feature is a sleek 23-story tower and the rest of the property comprises three restored historic buildings, including the hall that once was home to printing presses of the Gazette newspaper. That connection gives the hotel's restaurant/bar its name, gaZette, which is a cool spot to have drinks or food (see, we had a reason for the seemingly useless tidbit).

Venue Tip:

The hotel doesn't offer much as far as a late night menu if you get the munchies after staggering in past all decent hours, but just ask the concierge to share a list of late-night delivery options.

The Good:
Like all Westin hotel rooms, this one has the trademarked Heavenly Bed, an all-white cloud of custom-designed pillow-top mattresses, a cozy down blanket, three crisp, high thread-count sheets, a comforter, duvet and five plush pillows. Need we say more?
The Bad:
Hard to say. If we have to get critical, it's probably that the restaurant is a little overpriced and has a limited menu.

Best Feature: The Westin has three different pools, including its famous glass-bottom pool situated above the entranceway that allows you to watch people arrive when you take a dip. There are also two other twin pools, hot and cold, for more relaxation or refreshment.

Good Place to Party? Let's put it this way: You aren't going to want to waste the night here. The atmosphere is too sedate for real party animals. But it doesn't matter because everything else is within walking distance.
