Port of Call

Port of Call

838 Esplanade Ave
New Orleans
French Quarter / Marigny
(504) 523-0120

If you’re looking for a chill, dive bar with food like you used to have with your buddies back in college, look no further. Port of Call has the best burger in New Orleans, as well as an insanely good loaded baked potato. Add a great jukebox and their killer drinks called Monsoons (which are actually much better than the touristy Hurricanes served at Pat O’Brien’s on Bourbon Street) and you’ve got a great start to the night when you want to get off Bourbon Street, hang out with the bachelor party, and then hit some hopping jazz bars and clubs on Frenchman Street.

Just beware of those Frenchmen lurking about. The Big Easy, indeed.

Venue Tip:

Order a few burgers. Sure, they’re as succulent and delicious as your girlfriend’s unmentionables, but they cook down to a “where’s the beef” size (not like you’re girlfriend’s unmentionables). They’re not quite sliders, but hardly brontosaurus burger size either.

The Good:
The. Best. Burger. You’ve. Ever. Had.
The Bad:
The decor here looks to have been designed and named by some sort of sailor. They clearly did not consult him when planning the all red meat menu.
