With an outstanding restaurant, an outstanding rooftop bar and pool, and an outstanding location, the James Hotel in New York checks off the important bachelor party boxes for your romp in NYC. And while it may not have the localized party vibe of, say, the Gansevoort or The Standard what you get here is the essentials for a great bachelor weekend: a place to hang during the day (in the summer), a great meal, and then an easy walk to some exceptional bars and restaurants (like the Brandy Library and Dylan Prime).

Venue Tip:

If you want to get a seat at the rooftop pool you are going to have to spring for bottle service. Either take the plunge (no pun intended) or go somewhere else; it’s not worth it without the seat.

The Good:
The rooftop plunge pool, open to the public, is becoming a NYC summer scene staple.
The Bad:
Since the pool is open to the public, space is limited and fills up fast.

Price: $$$

Bar on premises: Jimmy (the rooftop bar) and David Burke Kitchen (their restaurant which serves cocktails too).

Best Feature: The room service is done by David Burke so you won’t have to resort to the turkey club, yet again.
