Sofitel Montreal

1155 Sherbrooke Rue W
QC H3A 2N3

The Sofitel Montreal doesn’t quite have the same appeal for bachelor parties from a party standpoint, but it makes up for it in other areas, namely price.  It's a Sofitel and if you’ve stayed in one, you've pretty much stayed at all of them. You can get your start at Le Bar, which is a comfortable spot to have a drink, but it's not really going to be rockin' and it closes by midnight. The location on Sherbrooke Rue is pretty sweet though because all the high-traffic areas are just a block or three away, Old Montreal is close enough and yet you'll be insulated from idiot drunkards once you get back to your room. Of course, this is a bachelor party, so your crew will probably be those idiot drunkards. There's also a decent restaurant, but not worth sticking around the hotel for when there are so many great other places in the neighborhood.

Venue Tip:

Unless you're a heavy sleeper (that is if you even plan to sleep) you might want to bring a set of earplugs or you’ll be hearing the percussion of slamming doors in the hallway all night long.

The Good:
The Sofitel does a nice job of stocking its bathrooms with all kinds of L'Occitane products like shampoo, conditioner, bath wash, lotion; and if you're not into that you can always bring them home to the GF.
The Bad:
Don't expect much from the hotel by way of a free breakfast. About all it's able to muster is some sort of granola bar thing and bad coffee.

Price: $$$

Best Feature: There is a great terrace off of the main restaurant where you can have a few drinks or a bite to eat and it offers some great people watching.

Good Place to Party? Is the Pope Jewish?
