When the ownership of a hotel changes, you can generally expect some improvement.  Well, after a couple years of getting up to speed, they’ve gotten serious enough to change the name of the hotel from the Gansevoort Miami Beach to The Perry South Beach Hotel, and start renovating. Here’s hoping they improve even more on an already good spot; perhaps they’ll even fix some of the drawbacks...

Sometimes when you offset pretentiousness and snobbery with just enough luxury and alcohol you can get a very good thing - like Paris Hilton with peppermint schnapps and a home video camera. The Perry nails that equation perfectly, creating the ultimate South Beach location you’ll both adore and despise at the same time.

Sure the staff may be stuck up and the prices insane at times, but the bachelor party will be enjoying the sick rooms and ridiculous talent too much to care. And once you escape to The Rooftop, the 26,000-square-foot adults only pool complete with private cabanas adorned with HD TVs and plush couches and a tropical bar, you’ll forget all about that dude that pushed you out of the way in the lobby - Khloe Kardashian can get so angry when she’s hungry.

Venue Tip:

Order your new lady friends at The Rooftop the Pink Elephant drink. It’s the perfect combination of girly delight and alcoholic excess.

The Good:
The Perry is all about see and be seen, and the talent gathers accordingly. Press your linen and bust out your finest bling, time to look sharp boys.
The Bad:
The Perry South Beach is like the hot girl who knows she’s hot and acts like it. Hence you can get stuck up service, expensive bar tabs, and terrible hand jobs (kidding on that last part).

Good Place to Party?: If outdoor drinking or lounging is your thing, then sure. And the Miami club scene is right outside the door.

Pool Scene?: Hell YES. The Rooftop hosts Super Soaked, South Beach’s top pool party (according to their website).

Nearby: STK (for, your guessed it, fish - kidding, steak); Philippe (for Asian cuisine); Café Bustélo (for Cuban coffee and snacks); plus Louis, Mynt, and Wall for some fun nightlife; and check out the nearby guests at the W South BeachThe Setai, and The Shore Club.
