Red, The Steakhouse

With the dark wood, white table cloths and requisite wine wall, something about Red screams “NY city serious” rather than “breezy Miami.”  Sure, there’s the kind of seafood selection you’d expect from a restaurant three blocks from the ocean, but the emphasis here is squarely on the steaks.  Red occupies roughly the same price point as The Forge, but with a more standard steakhouse menu (that is, if you don’t count their selection of out-of-the-ordinary side dishes, e.g. Parmesan “Tater Tots”).  This place seems to be in a long-running competition with 112 for “best steak in Miami.”  We’ll let you decide.

Venue Tip:

If you want a little privacy for your bachelor party, try to reserve the glass room adjacent to the bar.

The Good:
Among the best steak places in town, and the only one we know of us that serves powdered donuts (with three dipping sauces) for dessert. If that’s not enough for you (what’s wrong with you?), the portions are large and there’s always some upscale eye candy.
The Bad:
The service here can be spotty. Be patient and have another of Brad’s Hot Stuffed Peppers (house-made Italian sausage & tomato sauce; recommended).
