The Shore Club is kind of like that dancer the Bachelor met at the Pink Pony the other evening: phenomenal during the night, slightly regrettable during the day. Another Miami Beach institution, The Shore Club has been a destination for scenesters for years due to its Morgans Hotel pedigree, its cooler-than-thou vibe, and its multi-faceted party place, Skybar. But like many of the ladies lounging by the pool, perhaps it has partied too hard and forgotten to take care of itself. The hotel lacks the personality and charm of some of its neighbors and falls into the Miami trap of “White lobby + DJ music must = cool” where perhaps a new coat of paint and some customer service lessons might do it a world of good. Or maybe just some Botox.

Venue Tip:

Spring for one of the seven Bungalows facing the pool. Even if you all can’t sleep there, they serve as a sick hang-out spot and a great place to bring any new friends.

The Good:
Stuck in the middle of chic-hotel and party-dive, The Shore Club can give you a bit of both. Just be sure to manage expectations going in.
The Bad:
The rooms are a bit of a disappointment for what you pay - small space, IKEA-esqe furniture, white on white on white (on white on white...).

Price: $$$

Best Feature: Location: smack on the beach and on Collins Ave.

Good Place to Party?: Sunday pool parties; headlining acts at Red Room; insanity at Skybar. For SURE.

Pool Scene?: Saturday and Sunday at the pool is solid. Spring for a cabana though; it makes life better.

Nearby: Eat - Sushi by Nobu; Italian from Ago; the olive in your martini from Skybar. Enjoy the nightlife at LouisMynt, and Wall. Also check out the nearby guests at The PerryW South Beach, and The Setai.
