The Big Bang

The Big Bang

501 S Mill Ave
Okay, a piano bar for a bachelor party may sound lame but trust us, this is not your grandfather’s piano bar; it’s actually a great time if you’re in a big group, especially for 30-somethings. And at Big Bang in Tempe, you get double the fun because it’s dueling pianos. You can book a party big or small and join in with the crowd as they try to stump the musicians with requests and drunkenly sing along to their favorites. It’s not unusual to see someone standing on top of their chair and singing at the top of their lungs, though it’s never the chick you want to watch. And with two bars -- upstairs and downstairs -- the mood just gets crazier as the night goes on. The best part is you can really embarass the Bachelor by making him use some of the props that are available and sending him up on the stage to belt out those chick songs that you know he secretly sings in the shower. This place puts karaoke to shame.

Venue Tip:

If you can goad the guest of honor into getting up onstage and making a fool of himself, he’ll likely be treated to free drinks and maybe some other goodies.

The Good:
The Big Bang is right in the middle of everything, conveniently located in downtown Tempe within walking distance of Arizona State University, Sun Devil Stadium, and Tempe Town Lake.
The Bad:
On weekends it can get really crowded and there is a cover charge. Plus, the cost of drinks is pretty high for the small plastic cup that you receive.
