Aria at City Center

Aria at City Center

3730 S Las Vegas Boulevard
Las Vegas
Central Strip

Modeled on the Skylofts at MGM’s other hotel down the street (MGM Grand), the rooms at the Aria are pretty pimp. We especially like that everything in the room -- the 42-inch plasma TV, audio system, draperies, temperature, wake-up calls and room service -- can be controlled through one bedside, touch-screen device. Maybe that doesn’t sound like much to you now, but trust us: the Bachelor will appreciate this feature when he wakes up hungover and squinting because someone forgot to close the blinds before crashing the previous evening. The Aria has seriously doubled-down on the gourmet food department, clearly trying to outdo its neighbors elsewhere on the Strip. So while there’s plenty of big name chefs to sample, your party may need to either adjust the food budget, or head to some of the cheaper food courts on the Strip.

Venue Tip:

Spend a couple of extra bucks on rooms in the Sky Suites. The private check-in is nice but it is the free bottled water, coffee, and cocktails in the lounge that really make it worth it. Plus, any “friends” you make are going to think you guys are ballers.

The Good:
You’ll never have to leave. The City Center complex is designed to be entirely self-contained. But a Vegas trip isn’t complete without at least ONE tipsy-people-watching session on the Strip.
The Bad:
While the designers of the Aria gaming area were going for “class,” they just ended up with “boring.” It is serviceable but lacks personality. Then again, we make our own fun at the tables.
