The Palms must have seemed like a hard sell when it opened in 2001. Located about a mile west of the Vegas Strip, the only newish offering off the Strip was the Hard Rock. Would the free-spending crowds take such a leap of faith, traveling all the way to a hotel that wasn’t in stumbling distance of the Strip? Well, apparently the prospect of another set of clubs with one-word names proved too much to resist: the Palms is now among the more sought-after destinations in Vegas. Home to the $40,000/night “Hugh Hefner Suite” (can you really put a price on a suite with a dedicated pool AND rotating bed?), the Palms also boasts plenty of accommodations at non-celebrity price points for the Bachelor and his party.

Venue Tip:

Depending on the size of your group, consider booking a pool-side bungalow. They sleep 2-4 people and are right on top of the pool action. Plus they’ve got their own wet bars.

The Good:
The Palms is about a mile off the strip, but with its own full complement of clubs. Cuts down on the riff-raff (just kidding; there’s plenty of that).
The Bad:
The Palms is about a mile off the Strip. So there’ll be no drunken stumbling home; strictly cab rides. Harder to lure folks back to an afterparty here as well.

Price: $$$

Clubs/bars on premises: RAIN, MOON, Playboy Club, Ghostbar

Best Feature: Hardwood Suite, though you’re not likely to see the inside of it. We like the food court with some fast/cheap options for morning-after munchies that won’t break the bank.

Pool scene?: Lively pool scene; head here for Ditch Fridays for the true Vegas pool party experience.

Nearby Eats: N9NE, Simon Restaurant Lounge, Alizé, Nove, 24 Seven Cafe
