Maker’s Mark on tap. Not sure why this is so cool, but it is somehow. And where else can you buy an Olde English 40 oz. and chase it with a shot of bourbon (or maybe it’s the other way around?). Sure the 40 oz. will cost you $7 rather than $1.89, but the beauty is you don’t have to conceal it in a paper bag while you drink it. Bullitt pretty consistently draws a fun, female-heavy crowd. While not a big place, it’s never too crowded to elbow in for a drink. And Escape from New York Pizza is a mere block away, so if you’re not into waiting around for a burger at Bullitt, you can always reach for a pesto-garlic-potato slice.

Venue Tip:

Try the burger. Bullitt has some of the best bar food in town, and they serve it late.

The Good:
Always some talent in the area, and if Bullitt is having an off night, there’s back-up options all up-and-down Polk Street. We recommend stopping in at Royal Oak (cash only), or, further south, McTeague’s Saloon.
The Bad:
This place can get pretty packed on weekend nights. Though we’ve never seen a line out the door, it can be a hassle getting drinks during peak hours. That’s one advantage to buying your four-oh at the corner store I suppose.
