Webster’s dictionary defines the term joie de vivre as “feeling of happiness or excitement about life,” and what better way to describe the feeling of heading to a bachelor party? So it makes sense to house your party in San Francisco at the Hotel Vitale, a boutique oasis from the Joie de Vivre hotel collection. And this hotel offers plenty to be happy about, from its hot location by the ferry building to the secret rooftop lounge to the martinis at the Americano. How do you say “drink up” in French?

Venue Tip:

Before you get excited by scoring a great room rate, be aware that the hotel has a $30 Urban Retreat fee, per night, per room.

The Good:
A boutique vibe without the minuscule rooms that normally go with. Hit up the Joy of Life reward program for added fluff.
The Bad:
That nightly Urban Treat fee leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The location isn’t for everybody.

Price: $$$

Bar on premises: You can belly up at the Americano for happy hour but after that we prefer to go out.

Best Feature: Day after rejuvenating in the rooftop soaking tubs

Nearby Eats: The Americano for (ironically enough) Italian cuisine; hit the fantastic Slanted Door that’s just down the block.
