Remember when you could smoke inside bars in California? Yeah, well we don’t either. But apparently that was a thing. Then the good folks in Sacramento decided that subjecting all the non-smokers to carbon monoxide poisoning was unfair or something (party poopers). Well there’s a loophole: Owner-operated bars. And since Occidental Cigar Club is owner-operated, here’s a bar where you can enjoy a single malt with a Honduran cigar in hand– all the while watching the fog roll by in heated, indoor comfort.

Let the knowledgeable bartenders choose a bourbon or scotch for you; those guys really know their stuff. And definitely make sure to wear your smoking jacket.

The Good: 
Nothing spells “class” like a fine Honduran Churchill in one hand and a glass of something with “glen” in the name in the other. Do something out of the ordinary: For atmosphere, it’s truly a unique spot.
The Bad: 
Reason Number One not to go here? Cigar smoke kind of stinks. Reason Number Two: This place isn’t exactly overflowing with chicks. We have the sneaking suspicion that this has something to do with Reason Number One.
