Sam’s Anchor Cafe
Sam’s Anchor Cafe
The setting: just north of San Francisco, in Marin County, lies a sleepy beach community known as Tiburon. In Tiburon lies a diamond in the rough the locals flock to in droves known simply as Sam’s. On a sunny day-- and even when it’s cold and rainy in San Francisco, it still might be bright sunshine in Tiburon-- Sam’s fills up with patrons who sip bloody marys, eat seafood, laugh and make merry while gawking at attractive females doing the same. Locals know that sitting in the sun, striking up conversations with other patrons, and enjoying the water is what traveling to the Bay Area is all about. Sam’s is a local treasure and excellent for groups.
Take the ferry over to Tiburon from either the Ferry Building or Pier 41 in San Francisco. Gorgeous views of the Bay, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and SF. Plus they serve beer and lots of it. Finally, you don’t have to worry about drinking and driving.
