Hotel Palomar
Hotel Palomar
Hotel Palomar is nestled in the center of Los Angeles-- “15 minutes from everything” as locals claim. What you sacrifice for a short walk to the beach or La Brea Tar Pits (a premier bachelor party stop) you more than make up in reasonably priced cool that is a magnet for the area’s hipper crowd. You’ll get a great room-- with a spa tub if you play your cards right-- in a great hotel known for its food and patrons who favor blond hair and high heels. And, you won’t have to pay the same rates you would a little closer to the beach. Hotel Palomar is highly recommended if you can stand the endless supply of UCLA girls nearby. Suffer through it, champ. You’ll live.
Every month there’s a secret password to be given to the Palomar staff at check-in. If you get the password correct you’re destined for free gifts that will probably amount to a free glass of vino. Check their Facebook or Twitter page for the most recent one.

Lively daytime pool scene? Yes, but the pool is small and gets crowded easily. Get there early if you’re not into standing creepily over the pool with a drink.

Good place to party? If you’re anywhere near Westwood, and you like a chic, stylish locale at which to consume a few fruity cocktails (i.e. cocktails with fruit in them) and then a few more fruity cocktails and then fall into the arms of a 26 year-old nursing student who thinks alcohol poisoning is exciting, then this is most certainly the place for you.
Good place to drink at night? Hotel Palomar is the center of Westwood’s nightlife. Please consider that UCLA is right down the street.
